I’m back!

I spent the last week in Puerta Plata in the Dominican Republic! I had a great time despite the not very sunny weather. The highlight of the trip was an excursion to the Damajagua waterfalls. Wow! I have a bit of a fear of heights and my guy has never swam before. This trip challenged both of us. Now, I thought when I sign d up that we would be hiking and looking at the falls. Nope! We went down the falls, sliding and jumping, wading and swimming. There was a lot of scary bits, but it was exciting and a memory that I’ll have forever.

Reena 1- fear 0- that’s a great feeling!

And it also makes me think about other ways that we go through life with fears holding us back from something. How often do we consciously (or unconsciously) hold back from something we want to do because we’re afraid. Afraid of being judged, afraid of angering someone, afraid of consequences, afraid of being afraid. But the thing is, the thought is so often so much worse than what we actually experience. When we stay in the moment we’re in and we take one step at a time, we really can accomplish anything.

Is it your time to take a leap? Here’s mine:
